RCD510 USB audio - chirping

Hey everyone.
So I managed to get hold of a new RCD510 unit, thanks to skydemon for that. My old unit had 3 problems, the CD changer didn't work at all, it kept randomly switching between media and radio, and the music on my USB stick kept 'chirping' during songs. Thankfully the new unit has a working cd changer and it hasn't randomly switched between media and radio yet.
However, I still get a chirping noise from my usb music. I've included a video below so you can hear. I've tried a different USB stick but that does the same. I bought a used USB connector so I'm wondering if that is the problem or if it is a known issue with the head units anyway, it can't be can it? I do also have an iPod connector but the only ipod device I have to use it with won't work for some reason, maybe a version issue? So I can't test it.
What I've just found in the last 5 minutes is that the connection to the media in port is flakey. If you knock the plug in the socket then it disconnects. This doesn't necessarily relate directly to the chirping though. Is it a big job to replace the media-in socket to see if that is the issue?
