Hello i'm new to the forum.

Could anyone offer some advice on bluetooth kits for my newly purchased 2010 2.0 TSI. It has an RCD510 installed and I wanted to purchase this kit from ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111615512887? ... EBIDX%3AIT

and have it installed. Can anyone tell me if this is viable and easy to do or should I get a professional to install it?

I followed a guide off this site, I retrofitted it in a hour and saved myself a lot of money buy the part and fitting it myself, one garage wanted £350, I got the part for £140 so I was happy :)

The link to the guide is http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 38&t=17174

Luckily on my car I didn't need to use VCDS to program it, it just worked straight away, but you might need it programming which your local garage should be able to do it for you or even someone on here if they live close to you? Where do you live?

Thanks for the advice matty, I live in the Harrow area. Fitting looks a little fiddly to me and I don't really have the deftest of touches so I have found a pro that will install for £79.00, I just need to know if i'm buying the correct parts before I book him.

Is the kit you installed the same as the ebay link I posted? Or could you let me know where you got your kit from?

Thanks

Going by your part number, this will work... I have revision L in my car, so revision M must be the latest edition.

LEt's know if you need further advice

Its ok, i would of offered to help you fit it but we are a fair distance from each other haha, But £80 i guess isnt that bad if it includes being coded to your car aswell :)

The kit is pretty much the same as the one i got yes, i just got a older version, i also got mine of a seller on eBay, i can forward you his shop if you want but i think the one you have found is cheaper than he is selling them anway

Let me know how it all goes :D

Thanks again Matty. I am now toying with the idea of replacing the RCD510 head unit with either a used Kenwood DNX520VBT or DNX521DAB and using the bluetooth capabilities on it (amongst many other benefits).

BTW, am I right in thinking that the 9w7 BT only has voice activated dialling in conjunction with the RNS510 and not the RCD510 unit?

Too many decisions to be made. :?
