average mpg reading seems way off expected

Hi All,
On a recent two trips the trip computer was an average of 88mpg, although speed never exceed 50 mph due to M3/ M25 speed restrictions. This certainly does not look right even with the 2l bluemotion model (which this is)
Anybody have an idea what could be wrong?
Thanks
Andrew

I don't think that sounds way off. Even at 50mph. Once your running at a constant speed mpg does seem to go up quite high. It's setting off that uses the most fuel, and your not doing that on the motorway. I wouldn't worry about it. Check it again when your around town! Haha. I have the 2.0l gt tdi 170 and my mpg is regularly quite high.

Mine is on 17!!!
It's over 160 miles and mainly urban but that sounds way low I'm not on a track!
Anyone else got a 2.0ltr Tsi typical mpg?

I think that 29-30 mpg is about right. I've been using an app for 14 months that you type in all the details when you fill up(including mileage) and it gives you lots of stats and graphs.
I only drive about 15-25 miles a day (rarely on motorways), I only floor it occasionally and my mpg averages on 30.2 mph. I also reset the dashboard multi function display the day I purchased my Roc, It reads 30.1 so it's pretty accurate.
Sorry my Rocs a 2.0TSI (200ps) 09 plate.

Mine also a 2.0 tsi, I have heavier feet than most.
When I checked 1 and 2 (the numbers in the corner)
One was 25 and one was 27.

Every car I've owned the computer has flattered the fuel consumption, the only way is to brim the tank, zero the milometer, run to fairly low then brim the tank again and do the sums.
This helps to make it easier

Or use an App to do the sums for you!
My dash mpg was spot on!
