RNS 510 questions: help

Post by m4pdy »

Hi all,

Picked up my roc a week ago and I love it. It's a 2009 58 plate, 30,000 from new, all the toys, heated electric leather , say nav full Vw service history. Garaged from new, it is like a brand new car!!!! My question is, how (safely) can I update the map and firmware I ideally want 7 digit postcode entry and speed caneeas?

Can it be done?
Thanks

Paddy

Think it can, read this:

Also background info here:

I started off with a 2013 model so had no need to update firmware. I tried following the instruction on this link to update maps but had no joy, it wouldn't read the discs I burnt. Tried various flavour of DVD, +R, -R, but nothing worked. After spending £40 on blank discs I decided it would be cheaper to buy the new maps. I ended up buying a map update from fleabay for about £15. When it came it wasn't a VW disc just files burnt onto the same blank DVD I'd tried, in this case a Verbatim DVD +R DL RW disc, so I was expecting the worst but they loaded up fine.

Check my old posts, I followed the gti link and updated my 2009 to seven digit postcodes and was really easy. All it cost me was a blank disc and a newer sat nav disc from ebay for £10
