sponge in black vw bag in inner wing ?

notice today a black bag pushed up inner wings with a sponge in them

what are they for

It's padding and used in the wings as support and to reduce vibration /noise. The sealed bag should stop water absorption. It's a good sign it's there as it's often left out after accident repairs

This shows it for a mk5 golf ( well the repair instructions for corrosion )

Common to all, just for some reason vw think the corrosion is more common on diesels possibly due to more vibration.

I feel really stupid....even from that Golf 4/5 TPI document linked earlier in this thread I still can't figure out what I should be looking for on my own Roc lol.

Is it possible for someone to take a photo of what it looks like on a Roc? Only reason I ask is because my car's in for a repair after a non fault accident so wanna make sure it's there when it comes back! lol
