Evening all

Apologies if this has been coverd, but I have a 59 plate 2.0 TSI
It came with a lead for an I phone 4 but I have a 5 , so I got an updated lead,
It will charge the phone but will not recognise it to play music.

The Bluetooth for the phone book works and I can access the music through that however the quality is rubbish,

Anyone else had this ?.
Many thanks

Pretty sure I've read about others with the same issue. Solution seems to be is to use the cable for the 4 with an official Apple Lightning adaptor.

With regards to the music quality try changing the input sensitivity on the head unit.

Thanks for the reply mate, I'll go have a look at that before buying the apple one , I did get an official vw one which I assumed would work , and vw hadn't got a clue why It didn't , they just said if you had a 4 it would , really helpful !

Problem with the "official" VW one is that there are a number of variants with different colours of collar to work in your car.if you do a search you might find out.which colour works with your Rocco.

Old cable with lightning adaptor is simpler:-)

Thanks for the help pal,
I've managed to sort it, had an idea, I found a 4 cable still in the car and remembered I had an old I pod,
So I'm just going to use the I pod for the car as have just tried it and works a treat , saves buying the cable

Cheers

That sucks mate and there should be no need to use a Pod. I have the same issue where my iphone 5s cannot connect to the Bluetooth as neither phone or system recognise each other. The dumb thing is I have a 63 plate car and my phone will connect to one of the works Caddy vans system which is a year older.

I know pal its crap but wasn't sure what else to do.
I bought the car from VW and blagged the I phone 5 lead knowing how expensive they are.
I tried it there and saw it didn't work , no one there had any idea what to do ,
I'm only using the pod as its spare and on my I tunes anyway and I still had a 4 lead for the car

Like Bob pointed out leads and connectors are not cheap so just begrudge paying the extra money for it,
There must be an update or something somewhere but atm I havent a clue ,
Sucks with yours though pal seeing the age of the car etc

Ive had the same issue with my iPhone 6 with a 58plate TSI..... Bought the official one with the White collar didn't work phoned up VW told me the correct part number order the green collar one(correct part number) same issue.... Itl charge but won't recognise it. It came up briefly on the screen about installation then went off. IL just go to VW and try find a solution. If it's going to cost il just have to use the Aux. Stupid tho...

Let me know how you get on pal ,
As mentioned before I'm just using an old I pod with a 4 connection, can't be asked to spend the money for such a silly fault.
Let me know how you get on pal.
