Hi guys,

Well it's that time of year again where the roads turn into a game of dodging potholes. I've hit one and buckled my wheel by the looks of it. Surprisingly the tyre is still in one piece and as far as I can see there are no cracks on my alloy. Just wondering if anybody has an idea of how much a new alloy will set me back from vw I'm on 19" laguno's.

Yeah I am going to chase it up with the council as it was on a main A road when it happened. It's just finding the time to collect all the evidence and stuff :/

I will get round to doing it at some point though as I'm guessing a new alloy won't be cheap. So thanks for that link I'm sure it will come in handy

Try eBay first before you go dealer route. They are very expensive from dealers. When I bought my car the manager told me each alloy was around £400 each

Just park up next to whiteDevil and swap them

I will have a look round first to see if I can get a second hand one. For some reason I had £600 in my head so I guess £400 softens the blow slightly.

What's even more annoying is, I have one scuffed alloy on my car, which I was waiting till after winter to get sorted. Why couldn't it have been that one that buckled

I notice your from Oldham, I'm down the road near Failsworth. As you probably now Oldham council are not that quick at getting the roads sorted. I would get as much info as you can get and throw it at them and get them to foot the bill for a new wheel.

Yeah they're absolutely useless at maintaining the roads. I go all over the country and the roads around oldham are way up there as some of the worst. I'm constantly swerving over the road avoiding everything.

Suppose it's the downside to having 19's instead of 18's :/

There is a guy out near York that is a wizard at sorting out buckled wheels. He did my sons 18'' alloy on his Scirocco.

I'm pretty sure a single Lugano.is around £650 from TPS

Quick update. Managed to buy one off eBay for £325 with some tiny marks on. So going to swap the tyre I have currently on the damaged one and put it on the new wheel. Then get both front wheels refurbished, (was thinking of using chips away) then job done

Very surprised that you buckled the wheel and the tyre was ok, I went though 2 tyres last year, I will never get 19s again

Managed to buckle my wheel and some how not effect the tyre. I feel your pain Smet92 and make sure you chase the council up. Mine told me to wait 8-10 weeks for an answer

Did mine on a pothole last year, brand new wheel will be approx £700 from the stealers.
