I own a 15 month old 1.4 TSI Roc, which I love. It's a pleasure to drive, but I do miss some of the 'toys' I had on my previous car . I now have the opportunity to buy a new 2.00 TSI GT which is sitting in the dealer's compound, and I was wondering what views you all have on the new Roc and if it's worth changing my relatively new car for this new GT.

its all circumstantial.
Can you afford it - that's what it boils down to.... if you could, why not have a newer, faster car?

Toys? What toys?
The 20 bhp increase wouldnt be worth switching for imo.

The increase would be 50bhp on the 1.4tsi not 20bhp. More power is always a bonus!!

No experience of the 1.4 but my 2.0 TSI is a lovely car even if it is a bit rattly.
The only thing I would say is that I once changed from a 1.4 Puma to a 1.7 Puma and although it was faster and had leather and that kind of thing, I still got bored of it more quickly as it wasn't sufficiently different to make me feel that I'd had a change so probably worth keeping that in mind.

As Henry Ford once said, "There is no substitute for cc's".
Personally I would go for the 2.0TSi because there is so much more you can do to it on the tuning side. Even the 2.0Tdi has a higher performance potential. Even if you don't go for high spec mods, at least with the 2.0TSi you have the option later on.

As mentioned previoualy, it's all circumstantial.. also, it depends on what you use the car for imo.
If you just want more power / tuning potential then yes go for it
If you you're bored of the cabin etc. i would look at another car altogether.
Or just to throw it in there... buy an R
