INTERMITTENT WATER LOSS

Main dealer did pressure test and by jiggling (moving) water hose at thermostat connection this showed leakage on certain movements. On inspection of the hose the mechanic and myself came to the conclusion that nothing appeared to be wrong. The car has done 43,000 miles, owned by myself and no previous problems. Thermostat housing and hose all replaced, new pressure test showed OK (job done). Bill of £390.00. Seemingly due to long labour time.

Approximately 3 weeks later, leakage appears from same spot under car, informed dealer I will monitor the situation to ascertain if it is an intermittent problem. On a weekly basis I check the water level and this can be OK for 2-3 weeks and staying level. Then on another particular time it will drop down an inch, as if it spurts out in one go.

I am now wondering due to this "snap" type connection between hose and thermostat housing that upon high revs, water is forced out through this area. Just like the mechanics test, he had to jiggle the water hose to show water coming out and as I have said,no obvious fault was found.

Will be going back to main dealer, does anyone have any experience of this fault or anything similar?
