Ok it`s getting close now to replacing my front tyres, the new tyres which i already have are stored and they are Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Thing is the tyres on my Scirocco are comming upto 4 years old in Jaunuary but have only just touched 20k miles, the rears have like 4-5mm tred. So new on the front or swap rears to front and fit new on the rear? Current tyres are the factory fitted Dunlops.

You should ALWAYS get your new tyres in the rear axle.
It's probably not the best video but you get the idea: " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Good work there. Local tyre shop always insist on fitting new tyres on rear; when I asked why, they could never give me an answer! Now I know, thanks.

As already said, new tyres to the rear, irrespective of driving wheels. Reason is that the majority of drivers can handle understeer much easier than oversteer. Obviously this doesn't take into account the release agent of new tyres.
