Old fuddy duddy Had a 'Senior Moment this morn. Put in petrol (2.3 ltrs) then realised!!!. So girl in pay kiosk said it's ok , anything up to 5 ltrs , can get away with.(Info from FUEL DOCTOR). So l completed filling tank (full) with diesel.
Calculated 50 ltrs of diesel mixed with 2.3 ltrs of petrol. Been told by my local (V.W trained specialist) should be ok.
Any comments / likely problems ?. (Apart from the obvious please!!)

I would keep topping it up with diesel every day just to weaken the petrol mixture.

Not familiar with this myself but when a friend of mine had his drained - he had to add the diesel cleaning product into the system. Might be worth a go

Should be OK. In the old days!! used to add a bit of paraffin to stop the diesel freezing in winter in Germany. Showing my age.

The thing about a modern diesel is that the diesel lubricates the high pressure pump wheras if it is diluted with.petrol there is a risk of it not being lubricated. I doubt the small amount of petrol will cause any long term issues.

It will be absolutely fine.
People sometimes put small amounts of petrol in to help clean things out every so often.

fill it with top quality diesel not supermarket stuff- the genuine article has higher lubricity
