Hi,
I bought my 2010 scirocco in August (absolutely loving it) and have just had a service required notification popping up on the MFD. When I bought it the salesman said it had been serviced, MOTed and gone through their usual used car checks. I did remember checking the service book and saw the stamp but in the excitement of the moment didn't pay enough attention to it (amateur I know). There is a service stamped for July this year and the MOT corresponds to this date but they haven't ticked any of the service boxes (or is this part of the usual used care checks?). So I have two questions, was this a service that would count towards a 'full service history' and therefore I don't need to get it serviced until next year when the MOT expires and therefore reset the service interval or do I need to keep on servicing it as according to the service schedule that is programmed in the MFD? Second is the DSG oil and filter tick box the mandatory 40K mile/£179 change (as I'll be pretty chuffed if they've done this)? I've attached a picture of the service book page to help.
Cheers

Re: Should I reset service indicator
To be honest you can't trust those tick boxes, even from a dealer, hence why I keep the receipts showing exactly what's been changed and what work has been done. I doubt very much they have done the DSG Oil and Filter as it's not due until 40k miles. Garages don't spend money for no reason.
If it were my car and I was intending to keep it I would get it serviced now
It's basically just engine oil and filter and a pollen filter. It will set you back around £150 but at least you know it's been done.

Re: Should I reset service indicator
Thanks for the reply. I think I'll ring up the dealer and see what exactly they did, see if I can get proof that they replaced the DSG oil and filter if they actually did it.
The annoying thing about getting it serviced now is that it'll be out of sync with the MOT because I've always done both at the same time and I was looking at putting it on a VW service plan.

Re: Should I reset service indicator
If your car is out of warranty and the service stamps look legit and you are quite handy I'd consider dropping the oils yourself and then reset the indicator.
