Tilt & slide seats.

Any one had to use some sort of lube on the runners?. 
Used my rear seats for the first time in ages over the weekend & seats felt quite stiff when pushing them forward.
Got WD40 & GT85 & a can of spray grease but thought that might end up all over the carpet & that WD40 & GT85 might be too thin & not much use?. So you options please.
