Hi Guys,

this is just an FYI, and i'm not even sure i'm in the right section for this topic.

I have just ordered a Golf R (300BHP) from a lease company. its sooooo cheap! £1500 deposit and £203pm.

will defo be selling my Rocco now, but will miss it massively. Why dont they put the 300bhp engine in the Rocco??

Also, Lease company is Freedom Contracts.com. have a look :)

Congrats!

Is this a type of deal that you will never own the car so you lose the money?

Yes, you are basically paying the depreciation. So even if you bought the car new you would still effectively lose the money if you sell in 2 years, due to depreciation.

Metallic R DSG for an equivalent 340 ppm - tempting. I worry about this though :) : http://www.freedomcontracts.com/terms-a ... itions.asp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Check with your local dealer personal PCH's via VW finance are now available for quite frankly silly money on 24 mo terms. The prices out there currently mean most would be completely mad to buy with cash or on PCP....

However any options you add will likely be divided directly over the term so buying base spec is the most cost effective route.

Before I order I would check forum for retrofit prices (difficulty) the go from there. I.e. Nav retrofit loads cheaper than dealership option, however xenons and power fold mirrors more pricey/difficult...

lol Thanks Guys! 24 months lease. approx 2k down and approx 225 a month (will worry about exact figures later lol) with rear camera option and metallic paint. FYI I don't need a camera, its just a nice party piece lol

yes, all extra's costs a bomb! once you load them on, you don't take advantage of the value.

Yes, you don't get your money back, but its actually cheaper than buying it cash. Trust me, I have done several spreadsheets before signing.

and I never have to buy Road Tax or MOT's. And one Service is required (circa £169.99).

Admittedly i should have shopped around, but i was too excited. Plus i actually went online to potentially buy a rug, things just escalated from there and i found myself handing over card details an hour later for a brand new Golf :)

Sounds like the kind of thing I would do :) [reminder to self: don't shop for rugs online].

Enjoy!!

I thought that retrofit nav is not currently possible on mk7 platform cars.. linky, has there been a breakthrough in terms of sorting out map coding and activation?
I know that Kufatec have a plug-in box due to be available soon which will stop the unit from locking but will also stop it integrating with the dash.

RNS510 retrofits on mk5/6 cars where admittedly very easy.

No Idea what the delivery date is. sometime in January i was told.

Now i have a new dilemma. What do i do with my rocco? Sell it now and get a run around? or wait till the new year, then sell it?

Also, what is my Rocco worth? i have an idea of what i think its worth, but you boys may not agree.

Its the 2008 (58reg) Rising Blue 2.0 TSI with Pan Roof, 19" Lugano's, Heated Leathers, Sat Nav with Kufatec bluetooth, Full VW history (just had a £400 major service, so hassle free for 2 years or 20k miles). It is in amazing condition, and still has warranty till january. I want 12.5k for it, maybe 12k. thoughts?

OH! i still have warranty on it till December :)

Honestly this is the kind of thing i would do - all my strength is going into not looking at Golf R lease deals now as yours sounds so good  Congrats :)

minnu i woud revise your price expectations, you would be doing well to get £12k on a 58 plate Rocco 2 years ago and these are not as strongly sort after as the later mk5 K04 GTIs
