Is there anyone in the Middlesbrough area with the capability of turning off the dipped beams as drl's on an 11 reg 140 diesel model,I understand it requires doing via the VCDS (VAGCOM), Thanx!

If you don't mind a small drive give Vasstech a call. I'd imagine they would not charge too much if you can't find someone with a VAGCOM unit!
