Hi, I'm fairly new to the forum and would appreciate some advice, we've got a 2013 R Line and did a stupid thing today. I'm always moaning to her in the kitchen if she gets anywhere near the kerb in case she damages the wheels, so what did I do today, you guessed. I was distracted (well that's my excuse) and gave the front nearside a clout on what turned out to be a very rough kerb. I took the paint off about 4" on the edge off the rim. My question is, is there a way I could carry out a reasonable repair my self and, would I be able to buy some silver paint to match off the shelf?

You could try to fix yourself with somw Wurth silver paint, which is a close match but it will be nowhere as good as a professiol refurb.
