The reason why the call it a Van as its a yellow plate business vehicle - in DK there is this ridiculous rule that when buying a vehicle on business purchase it must have the rear seats removed - and then the car is given yellow plates to differentiate it from all the other cars on the road.
By purchasing on business the car works out a little cheaper for the buyer but not a lot and for those of you wondering how much does the Scirocco cost in DK well.... the standard Scirocco 2.0 GT spec (manual) costs 415,999.00 DKK = 50,429.88 GBP
So its not really a Van just given that name to highlight to show what the Business purchase vehicle would look like - I know this because I was born in Denmark
My uncle has a Business purchased 4x4 in DK - looks so so wrong without the back seats.
You learn something new everyday here!

The Audi TT has not been approved for pick-up use by the tax authority here in Denmark, so therefore the vehicle can't be registered. As seen on the pictures the car has pre-license plates which means that it's not fully legal registered for all time road use. These plates is normal used at a car dealer for customer test drives.
Because of the insane TAX and VAT laws here in DK

normal cars is assigned to 25% VAT and 180% TAX. A "Van model" is assigned to 50% TAX and 25% VAT if it's private owned and 50% TAX and 0% VAT if it's company owned.
Due to vehicle registration law a Van model is rebuild so it has a larger boot than normal for goods transportation.
example:
in dkkr
Audi A3 2,0 TFSI (Van) - Base price: 155.391,- + VAT: 38.847,- + TAX: 82.484,- Total: 276.722,- = 33.367 GBP
Audi A3 2,0 TFSI (Normal) - 419.904,- = 50.637 GBP
50.637 -33.367 = 17.270 GBP saved if you can spare the rear seats

good option for those who want to ditch the seats for weight saving, off topic but are mini vans popular, no rear seats and a bigger boot would makes so much sense

Yes it's a good option for those who dont want to pay double price.
The sale has not yet kicked for them due to the financial crisis, infact i have only seen 2 mini vans on the streets so thats not so impressive

Perhaps you were born in Denmark, but your take on how much "a little cheaper for the buyer but not a lot" is, is in no sense very Danish
Missing out on the rear seats the price on my Roc was 42,500 £ as opposed to 70,100 £ with rear seats. I seriously doubt that many people with a somewhat normal pay check would call a saving of more than 27,500 £ "a little cheaper but not a lot". To my knowledge this price difference is approx. equal to the actual price of a Roc in the UK (you lucky bastards

). At least I don't have any kids, so I had a hard time convincing myself that rear seating would be worth 27,500 £

.
They actually have the same kind of car tax laws in Norway, though their car taxes are no way nearly as high as the Danish dittos - and their plates are green instead of yellow on cars with cheaper tax and no rear seats.

Sorry to upset you but my assumption was based on the price I had worked out for the GT model obviously this wasn't correct then - hence I thought it was £45K with the rear seats!
You don't have to justify anything - its your choice lmao

Hehe...you didn't upset me. Just wanted to clarify that the difference is not subtle on having the rear seats or not in DK, and it's not (only

) because we are very silly people, that we take out the rear seats.
