Hi,

I have the RCD510 and love the look of it but think its let down because theres no sat nav or dvd playback etc

I have seen the ones on eBay that look like a factory unit but have sat nav, dvd, streaming, hand free etc etc and for £250-£300 look a steal.

Who on here has one that you can recomend??

Pics and links would be great guys

Nice one

Paul

I've seen a few of the Android based ones on Ebay. I couldn't find many reviews but the ones I could find seemed to highlight problems either with reliability or illogical operation of the controls. Also I recall someone mentioning that the illuminated displays at night didn't match the rest of their Roc.

Have a look on the mk5gti.co.uk forum, there's a few discussed on there. From memory, some were quite good and others barely lasted a month

Some of those ebay ones can be hit and miss!
Would be gutting to fork out £250 for it to give up in a month!

Id recommend that you save up for another month or so and have the cash for a brand name unit or RNS510.
It would be worth every penny, the RNS will hold its value if you decide to resell also!

Yeah them android/china tat ones are unreliable had one on an older car of mine similar sort of set-up! Not worth your money to be honest! Save up for RNS510 you actually pick them up on ebay second hand for about 350-400 quid! Have a look!

I had a Kenwood DNX5210BT for a while... looked nice, but ended up switching for an Pioneer unit (AVIC f950dab) as the sound quality and radio reception wasn't great on the Kenwood. The Pioneer is awesome and really do love it... responsive, reliable and great sound output. Don't have a pic of the Pioneer (I'll try get one tomorrow), but here's how the Kenwood looked:
