All,

Had a quick search for any previous topics covering my issue but came up short so here goes....

The headlight switch has 4 positions, from left to right:
Off
Auto
Side lights
Driving lights

The results I get from each setting are as below:
Off - Driving Lights.
Auto - Always the main driving lights wether its daytime or evening
Side Lights - As Expected
Driving Lights - As expected

Is this a common problem, I'm wondering if there is a relay away somewhere but thinking that my suspicions could be wrong due to the driving lights going off as expected when the side lights are selected.

Could anyone enlighten me?

Surprised you couldn't find anything with the search as this is the most common question any new Scirocco owner asks.

Your lights are working as they should. On Sciroccos with halogen headlights, dipped beam is used in lieu of DRLs and are therefore on all the time, making the "Auto" function redundant.

Dipped beam as DRLs can be disabled using VCDS.

Cheers for the reply and thread links, as I said it was a very quick search and I think I typed 'lights' opposed to headlights as most of the search results returned posts about interior lighting.

My mistake and laziness by making a half hearted attempt I suppose.....
