Scirocco Central

Hi all have raised this topic before, have owned car for 5 years now, still love it but I really cannot detect any difference in ride with different ride settings Main dealer maintains laptop shows no fault, After getting fed up with incompetent main dealer went to independent specialist for a DSG oil change and asked them- they said they too could not detect any difference but again said laptop shows no problem. They encouraged me to go back to main dealer- same answer -laptop says no problem, I asked them to road test it- 2 mechanics went out, one said couldn't tell difference, one said he thought he could tell difference. They said system fitted is as for Passat- the scirocco is much lighter hence can't feel the difference- (another case of main dealer bullshit?)
Independent commented that whilst laptop says no problem he could detect no voltage or current spike on changing setting, I too have tried connecting a very accurate digital voltmeter across battery, then with ignition on, tried switching between settings- no change! But even switching on courtesy light shows a small change
would some other members who are sure they can tell a difference try this test and let me know what they find

I had a Passat CC previous and you could feel the difference but not realy a great deal of change in the Scirocco.

Does not realy bother me as coilovers are to be fitted very soon.

Could your shocks be worn, what's your mileage? When the chassis button is pressed it triggers a magnet which pulls on all the very small metal particles in the damper fluid which stiffens up the movement so if your shocks are worn out this might be why you can't feel any difference in sport mode.

I can easily tell the difference between all 3 modes. Not just the suspension. The steering becomes heavier

Can also tell the difference in mine. Steering is heavier in Sport mode and very light in Comfort, also firms up and softens the ride.

Hi worn shocks are not the issue- raised the issue with main dealer when car was a few months old with only 3,000 on clock, still has only 33,000. I would have thought that I should see a voltage spike on switching between modes, and I have never detected a change in the steering

Buy a cheap current clamp and put it around the cable feeding the solenoid on the damper, it the solinoids are getting any sort of voltage to motor them and adjust the damping then you will see a spike on the current clamp.
