First time poster here, and I own a candy white 2.0 GT TDI. Can anyone let me know what is the best polish to bring up the white to a sparkling finish? I currentyl use auto glym supe resin, but wondered if anyone had used anything better in the past.

This is a question you will never get a definitive answer to in my opinion. It's personal preference I think, but the usual dodo juice, doctor Beasleys, autobrite direct all get gvoid reviews. Depends on your wallet really

Super resin polish is a really good benchmark. Infact its just won detailing world polish of the year again! I moved from that to auto finesse tripple. Again another all in one product that has wax so will add a bit of paint protection. My car has a coat of show wax which makes it look really shiny. I will soon be applying a sealent instead this protects the paint and makes white cars shine shine shine!

From the reviews it gets +3 for werkstat kit. Never used it personally but so many good reviews on it.
Another sealent option is my current favorite auto finesse tough coat and tough prep combo. 6 months protection and super easy to apply.

Unless your looking to machine polish then I think you should be fine with autoglym SRP for the minute. It contains fillers that will help mask any minor defects, such as swirl marks and helps to further clean the paint. Detailing can become very expensive and there are so many products out there. recommend werkstat & auto finesse as well.
Personally with candy white I've found (if not machine polishing) autoglym will give you a good finish, to enhance it further whilst not breaking the bank then a glaze such as poorboys white diamond works very well and is easy to use (£10-£15 depending on retailer). Then a good wax to preserve the finish will top it all off, for candy white I've found the dodo juice line gives some really good effects. Collinite works very well on all colours and is always in my cleaning kit.
Dodo juice
Supernatural hybrid, available in test pots for about £10 - enhances the colour
Supernatural acrylic Spritz for about £12-£14 for a small bottle (spray sealant) - very good reflection and an easy top up after a wash
Collinite
476 or 915 both offer long lasting protection and colour/reflection for about £14-£20
I've used dozens of manufacturers but always come back to collinite for wax, but that's just my preference. If your looking to try new products always see if you can get testers before purchasing in full. Elite car care usually offer testers, juicy detailing sometimes have them, clean your car & polished bliss have sent me a few in the past.
Regular safe washing will maintain your efforts but it does get addictive.
My current candy white R has :
Full decontamination
Stage 1 machine polish (finishing pad & polish)
Poorboys white diamond glaze
2 x coat collinite 915
1 x coat supernatural acrylic spritz
I'll try and upload some pictures later but your looking at 8-12hrs work. Like I said it gets addictive
