Paint issues

Hi All,

Got a Scala-Red motor that seemd to scratch too easily eg: even when removing bugs using a quality sponge, and washing agent? It's almost like they forgot to puy the hardener in?

Anyone feel the same about their car, whether it be 'Flat'colour or indeed Metallic? :grumpy:

Oh, And my car has been 'Supa-guarded from day -1...

Cheers Steve

not great steve, hopefully a few owners will give you some feedback, how old is it now and have you been to the dealer?

Not noticed this with my salsa red - after almost 2 months, the paint looks great with a deep shine. Every car will get tiny scratch marks when you wash it, could it be the supa-guard?

Hi Guy's

Another Red one in Scotland, there's not many of us , which is good.

Had mine since Sept/Oct time ( I think?), done around 4000miles, and have never had any issues with usiong sponges in the 20-odd years I've been washing cars.....

I dear say it maybe the Supa-guard, but I guess most of it is off now, as I had to use a TAR remover as the missus managed to get it covered up both sides and across the bonnet, so after that was removed, I'm now thinking about getting a kind of 'Paintshield/film applied because I have seen this done, and it is the mutts-nutts.....

Cheers Steve Fae Scotland...

Oh,

Mean't to ask, anyone know of any kind of Paintseal/film dealer? Or where I could get the pre-cut film from?

Cheers

mine is like that, removed some bird droppings with wet tissue, now theres a light scratch! Definatley seems to me to be more easily damaged.

Redevil, where abouts are you from? I'm up in the Highlands, so probably too far away to meet and compare paint?

I've got the same problem with paint (it's Supaguarded)...rising blue. I washed the car yesterday (with all the Supaguard stuff) and noticed that quite a few new scratches appeared. I've had metallic and pearlescent paint on previous cars (blue and silver..not VW's) and not had problems with scratching like this!

I believe that cars are now painted with a water based type paint which are obviously not as resilient to the likes of 2-pac and cellulose types!!
