Hi,
I am looking to buy a scirocco at the moment and I was just wondering if any one knows if the rain sensor is standard in a 2009/2010 car?
Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
Yes - my 2009 model certainly came with a rain sensor as standard.

Thanks Skippy.
I assume that auto lights are standard as well.

No worries, indeed auto lights are standard.
The Rocoppedia may help you here:

Although fitted with autolights, on cars with standard halogen lights, the function is redundant as the headlights are on dipped beam all the time in lieu of DRLs. Can be disabled using VCDS so auto lights work as intended.
Function.works fine on cars with Xenons.

Don't quite understand this, my auto lights do function as auto lights, when light levels go low, like driving into my garage, the main headlights do come on . Normally it is just DRL's (dipped beam).

If your car has Xenons then the DRL's are different to the main headlights. If you do not have Xenons, then the main headlights (dipped) ARE the DRL's.

Is there anyone around the Manchester area that can disable the dipped beam as the DRL and just leave the side lights as DRLs? With this done would the dipped beam in auto position work as it starts to go dark?
Thanks.

So now with your switch in the auto position your dipped beam will come on when it goes dark?

Yes - once the 'stuck on all the time' headlight setting is deactivated the AUto function will work and go off and on as dalylight levels.
