Warning on dash.
While driving my 160bhp 1.4tsi along the M40, a warning sign about my tyres was displayed followed by the displaying of the warning symbol for brake fluid. When I stopped at a garage and checked my tyres I found nothing wrong with either the tyres, which were at the correct pressure, or the brakes, which were working perfectly normally. These warning messages to check the tyres and the lit symbol for the brakes are still being displayed and I wondered if these were false positive messages, like you can get in a computer virus programme. It was a little worrying when this first happened but nothing appears to be wrong but I'll contact the garage asap. Has anyone else had a problem like this and what was wrong.

Re: Warning on dash.
When you checked the brakes did you physically look at the amount of pad left. The symbol indicates either lack of fulid in the system or that front pads have reached end of life.
The tyre message could be a false positive so reset the system by pressing the button in the glove box and see if it returns. Only do this if your 100% certain that there has been no loss of pressure.

I did a reset from the button in the glove compartment and both warning signals have now disappeared which shows that they were a false positive. It was worrying for a while, as I was driving on a motorway and when both the tyre and brake fluid warnings came on at the same time, I was a little alarmed, as you can imagine.
