Hi All,

Next door neighbour has decided to paint his gate with black aerosol hammerite (in the wind). The overspray decided to do a lap of his house before settling on my silver roc!

The bodywork on the whole car is now as rough as a badgers backside. I've t-cutted the bonnet and it came up great, unfortunately it took me about and hour.

Can anyone recommend a slightly less labour intensive way of doing the rest of the car? Is tar and glue remover too harsh?

tar remover is less abrasive than t-cut, I would have used t-cut as a last resort, I hope you have polished the area where you used the t-cut !!

try tar remover, and rinse the area thoroughly after and give the car a polish

Tar and glue isn't abrasive at all, its a solvent, it may remove some, but unlikely.

You'd prob need to clay the whole car to get rid of it. Unfortunately the only way is labour intesive. If you have a machine polsiher you could use that, but i'd still try and remove most of it by hand first.

T-cut is a polish - by definition a polish has abrasive in it which work the surface. So you dont need to polish after t-cut, you need to wax/seal though

Thats great thanks guys, i did use a wax polish on the bonnet after t cutting it. Might give the clay idea a go, never thought of that one.

I haven't punched the neighbour (yet), but he's left his cat with another neighbour while on his hols. Can anyone suggest a nice shade of hammerite for the cat?

Okay, whilst we are talking about polishing/waxing etc. Why is it that if you polish a black car it looks flipping awful and swirly????

Any top tips from you boys out there??? I've never even heard of using a clay before??

Wowzers that clay bar is real good sh1t! Got the halfords own brand bar and lube and it worked an absolute treat. Thanks Chaps.

What does anyone use to remove the black from exhaust pipes. I use autosol which is good but doesn't get the bottom of the lip on the pipe clean, its a bit more engrained there for some reason.
