Xenons winking

I've recently purchased a 3 year old R from my local VW dealer. Had a few issues with it which they fixed, however now I'm constantly getting flashed by drivers when driving at night. I used to own a Leon Cupra R which had the Bi Xenons installed and never got flashed, however in this it seems the lights are not levelling.

So I was driving behind a range rover and could see the reflection of my lights and every now and again the left light got dim, almost as if the self levelling system wasn't working.

The car had an off center steering wheel when I bought it, which the dealer fixed, so I'm thinking something might have been whacked.

Any Ideas?

when you start up the car the xenons should go through a self levelling sequence, park facing a wall switch lights to Auto or On and turn the ignition and they should sweep up and down and side to side

side to side ? - on a 'rocco ?

Mine only go down, then back up to normal height again.

Ahh there you go then - on a golf you get the dynamic cornering lights . On a rocco - we get the static cornering lights (separate angled lamps)

There is no AFS on the Scirocco so they only go up and down during the self test ( had the AFS on the Cupra R and they went UP DOWN SIDE OUT SIDE IN CENTRE). They do but they just seem to be really high up when driving. I've had a lot of drivers flashing and to be honest there has been on need to have full beam on at all.

Could be a sensor come loose maybe so going to get the stealer to look at it.

I would just get the alignment checked. Even alrhough they are self levelling, the datum has be set correctly, which is done using VCDS. When I first got my Rocco my Xenons were too low. Quick trip to dealer and tne issue was resolved.

Well the dealer did a diagnostic, talked a lot and then discussed things and then told me that the pair of sensors on the right hand side of the car were dead and they are replacing the whole lot just in case. So I wasn't going crazy and sorry to all the drivers who's retinas I vaporised with my lights
