I'm after a bit of advice.

I hit a pot hole the other day with the drivers front wheel. Since the there's been a slight vibration through the wheel. I don't think it's buckled though. I think it could need re balancing or at worst just some wheel alignment action?

Thoughts?

Could be that the wheel weights have fallen off after the impact with the pothole. I would take it to a tyre repairers for them to check. You may see evidence of the weights having come off the wheel, I think mine are just glued on the inner side of the wheel.

Sorry to be the bearer if bad news but it's probably buckled unless it has thrown a wheel weight and thus out of balance. Take it to a local tyre place to check the balance and run out.

Worth getting the alignment checked but would be surprised if that's the cause of the vibration. If you knocked it out, car would start pulling to one side.

Depending upon the damage I do believe they can be straightened but have no experience of how good the repairs are.

If it's an Interlagos then it's ebay for a 2nd hand one or £450 to VW or TPS for a new one.

Yes - could be an expensive pothole, but may be worth getting information about the pothole to launch a possible claim against the responsible council. Easier said than done for sure but could be worth it, I am sure many vehicles have hit the same pothole since.

Totaly agree with Skippy - some potholes in my area have been left for months and a real menace...not too bad if you know where they are but for visiting drivers - potentially very expensive. Councils need to be brought to to task on this issue....

I'm going to try and get to a kwik fit tomorrow and see if it is a case of wheel weights require re-fitting.

When it's run up on the balance machine any buckle should be obvious.

Just been and had both fronts re-balanced. One of them has a slight flat spot on it where it's impacted.

I'm taking it to diamond wheels in Stockport.

Does anyone have any experience with this firm?
