On occasions when crawling along at a few mph in rush-hour traffic (in 1st gear), I find the car can be 'jumpy' - even with gentle and steady throttle it will lurch a little, as if the engine doesn't quite know whether to engage the turbo or not. Anyone else experienced the same?

Hi Tom, I am getting something similar as well on my 2.0 tsi. How old and what mileage does yours have? I have a post going at the moment describing my problems.

Do a DSG reset
I had this before
drive your car a while until you get the ideal oil temperature, then stop and switch off the engine (Keep the car ON battery)
hold the throttle to the end until you feel the click at the end for 10 seconds (to make sure make it 20 seconds)
then release the throttle and start the engine.
Now the DSG will re-learn the car and driver.
drive for the first 20 miles on manual using your best control on throttle.
and do one flat throttle while driving and one hard stop.

My car was registered 1/3/13, so is seven months old and has covered just under 5,000 miles. It's reassuring to hear someone else finding the same symptoms! I find it's comfortable enough in 2nd anyway, but sometimes at only 3 or 4 mph it'd be preferable to stay in 1st.

My car doesn't have DSG (as far as I'm aware!? ) - it's a manual.
