Noises when braking

Post by Withnail »

Hi folks,

My car has been parked up for ten days whilst on my holidays.

I've driven it for the first time and when I brake there is a repeated knocking noise which are closer together the faster I am travelling. Have driven it a good three miles or more and still the noises persist.

Hope somebody can help.

It will probably be surface rust on the discs. Drive it for a few milrs more and apply the brakes a few times and it should disappear.
