I'm looking at buying some tyres of the lovetyres website (incredible prices).

When I search for the type of tyre I am looking for it gives me two options one with F01 which i dont know what it stands for and the other is without.

What does this mean, anyone know?

I believe the F01 has a different wet grip and noise classification to the non F01. If you just put in the tyre size you are looking for and then select goodyear it tells you the different options available and shows a C instead of D for the F01 and 72 instead of 70 for the noise level. Someone else might have a better explanation.

The F01 has a top C rating for wet braking whereas the non F01 has the lowest A rating. However the noise generated by the tyre is slightly higher on the F01

Thanks for your help Rob.

Just looked into it further myself and Camskill shows the difference like you said in the wet grip class.

If A is top and G is worst.

The R1 is the better tyre for the wet grip due to it having a Class A rating, however it is also a less noisier type with 70dB.
The F0 is the worse tyre for the wet grip due to it having a Class C rating, how it is also a much noisier type with 72db.

So really the R1 is not the better tyre in terms of grip, forgetting the noise for now?

I'm confused as in with C would be better than A.

This was my first thought when reading OP, I'm sure I've seen this somewhere too.
