Hi,
Ive got a GT with the standard stereo in it and ive tried a few things to get my mp3's playing in it.
First i tried my bus powered HDD which it didnt pick up at all but ive read on here people are using them so wondered if it needed to be a particualar type?
i also plugged my phone in which works a flash storage which is fine until someone calls me or i get a text then it goes mad and when i disconnect it installs my tomtom.
I want to use either my hard disk or a big sd card but i wasnt sure it the HCSD cards work or if i have to get a 8GB normal one or if even that will work.
any ideas?

HDDs are luck of the draw. Most will be recognised as long as they are formatted in FAT32 but only some will continue the same track where you left off after a restart.
I would stear clear of SD cards as they take an age to initialise every time you start the car.
Even some USB flash drives can be a bit tempermental. I have had the best results with a 16GB sandisk cruzer contour.
I am still looking for the best solution. Let us know how you get on..

I use a 16GB Lexar USB Key that's a fairly high speed - it was about 18 quid from aria.co.uk

Make sure that whatever you're connecting is formatted to FAT 32 and it should work fine.
