Hi guys!

Reformed VW owner here. Owned a Mk 2 Golf 16v, a VR6 Corrado and then an E46 M3, which was a horrible car. Now enjoying my new (to me) GT DSG.

A question to you knowledgable folk. What is this?

The photos are from another guy, on another forum, asking the same question that wasn't answered. I had one of these in the passenger footwell of my car. I removed it with a hex screwdriver, but can anyone shed any light on what it is for?

Plus, I have the standard iPod/Phone not being recognised problem. I didn't get the MDI to iPod cable (have ordered), is that the simple answer to my problem?

Ta.

At a guess I'd say that's a holder for a torch, could be wrong though.

I thought the same, or a tiny fire extinguisher?

Neither were present, very odd.

Could be a holder for well endowed passengers

I would say a torch holder.. Or perhaps a holder for one of them emergency exit hammer things for smashing the windows open.

Giving this a bump, as still haven't definitively confirmed what it is. Emergency exit hammer idea from above is best I've seen yet. Anyone?

(plus need to get my post count up ;) )

Could be a lamp holder. I've seen something similar in a car in showroom, lamp that was connected to the external source from the bottom of the car.
Just a guess.
