Replacing Scirocco Heater Controls?

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on here and I don't actually own my DREAM car yet but I will do shortly!

I am going for the 1.4, 160ps version, as I am only 19 and want to keep costs down.

I have been looking for a while now as I am very picky and the Panoramic sun roof I really want is proving hard to find.

I have found a really nice one in the Sumatra grey and that leads me to my first question, what is the difference between the Sumatra and the Indium grey?

The one I have found is an 09 plate which means it has the slightly out dated heating controls. Like I said I am really picky and although its just a minor point on the car, it does bug me that they look slightly outdated.

So I was wondering if it is possible/easy to replace the old style controls with the new ones found on the newer Scirocco's?

Any feedback would be appreciated!

:Welcome:
I like to describe Sumatra as 'barely black' it has the benefits of black but not the pitfalls & can be quite a chameleon changing colour depending on the light, it can be a very dark slate grey or almost a browny minky colour in direct sunlight, sometimes it even seems to have a very slight purple tinge. (its now been replaced by dark oak brown)
Indium grey didn't come in until June 2010 (prior to this Pewter grey was offered), its stunning & would have made my decision very difficult had it been available when I ordered, its a proper mid grey metallic. (Pewter grey is more a bluey grey)

Re the climate controls, people have swapped from the original 3 dials to the mk6 golf style ones; have a read http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... imate+swap" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I think you might be wanting the further jump though(?) in which case have a read http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 38&t=12256" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (not been done yet but might give you some ideas)
