I was reading the upgrade tutorial to the 4*** , But i really didn't get the procedure on my version

I have 1T0035680C with verison 2680

Units that can be upgraded include (still being compiled may not be 100%)

All D and later versions.
1T0 035 680 C (1T0035680 C) from software version 1000, 800, 900, 1100 , 2660 and 2700 to version 3810.

Warning! This upgrade will not create the new partitions required for the new POI system if you upgrade from 1xxx/2xxx. Upgrading from 3800-3910 is required so the new partitions are created.

I know it is very risky, Thats why i am seeking help explaining this.
Do i have to upgrade to 3810 first ?
Do i have to re-install the map ? Because our map (middle east) is very hard to get. I have to go to dubai dealer to install it for 160$

Can anyone tell me if this is what I should have expected to download from the link in the above post?
What do I do next if this is correct now that I have this on a CD?

What do I do next if this is correct now that I have this on a CD?

Steps to load firmware

Unlock and/or open the car
Do not start the car and do not insert the key in the ignition
Turn the RNS 510 on and insert the firmware CD/DVD into the drive

From experience you will note the drive restarting flashing strangely . it is OK
The process might take up to one hour .

Please post the results when you finish

So what you're saying mate is just put the CD in and it extract all the necessary files automatically?? There is a whole mix of files on the CD (as you will see from the image I have posted above) , will it know what to extract?

i am not sure cause i didnt do it myself, thats the reason of this topic

but from my experience with changing startup image, the RNS will detect that it is firmware dvd and it will restart itself with autostart dvd

How do I find out what firmware my unit is running?

Holding down setup usually brings up the hidden menu. Then you can find out

You must use CD/DVD , and you cant use it from CD Changer, cause only the DVD on the top is bootable for the RNS510

Got the hidden menu active now, I have software version 2850. Do I need to upgrade to a higher software version before I do this final update?
