The last few days I've been thinking to sell my candy R

It's 2012 (61) I'm thinking of selling to get a mk 6 GTD,
What would the best way of doing it as if I PX it could be worth more than the GTD,

But don't really need the agro of selling privately!

Will many main dealers be intrested in the R or will they not really want the deal as I won't really be handing over any cash?

I own the R outright so will be no finance issues

I'd imagine they'd want your R. Golfs are everywhere but the Rs are still pretty rare, and main dealer forecourt prices are still sky high.

You'd probably lose out a bit though... because they'd more than likely only offer you a straight swap based on their golf being valued at its current retail price and your car valued at its trade price.

Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna pop to my local garage tomorrow,
They haven't got any used GTD's do you know if they can get them from another garage?
Or will I have to find a garage that has one?

They can get them in from other main dealers, especially ones within the same group. They can also source them from vw stock. Doing it in either of these ways usually affects the deal you'll get though as they have to factor in transport costs etc.

It's best if you look on vw's website and use the used car search, this will include all dealers and uk stocked cars.
