The Curious Case of My Light Sensor . . .

Hi everyone

I have a quick question that I hope someone here could clarify. I own a 2013 Scirocco R.

My lights do not seem to go off even when there is sunlight. It goes on when it's dark (early morning) but never off while I am driving in brighter conditions.

Is this problem normal with the sensors on the Scirocco or should I do something about it? If this has been discussed before, I do apologize for posting a new thread.

Many thanks

The auto lights don't function as drl (daytime running lights) are activated on the scirocco meaning there are some lights on all the time. If you search the forum there is plenty of explanation

Hello Josh,

Mine does this sometimes.
I have to switch off the Xenons from Auto to the off position. As you say, the light can be very good but the mains stay on.

He has an R though, so has Xenons and seperate DRLs.

My light sensor acts in a similar way.

I think light sensitivity can be adjusted via VAGCOM IIRC (please correct if I am wrong). I can attempt to look up the necessary bit/bytes if you want.
