Hello guys!
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place first ever post! Posted it In a few different areas as I'm not sure where it needs to be!!
Basically iv been the proud owner of a scirocco for 4 weeks having loved the car since it was first released at 16! I can only just now at 21 afford the insurance.
Anyway I drive a TDI 170hp 2010.
Since having the car I only have used shell vpower. I can notice a difference from cheap diesel so would carry on using it. Two questions though....
Firstly... Would I do engine damage adding a Cetane booster to vpower fuel... I see no reason why I would as the higher the Cetane number the better the "bang" which means more power per stroke?
I was after putting either redex or millers in there? Suggestions??
Also would anyone recommended either bp ulimate or shell vpower?
Only ever tried vpower?
My car is completely standard.
Thanks guys!!

If you want power get a tuning chip.
Waste of time with fuel additives.
Try tesco fuels as I fine in my tsi I get better mpg

Re: Shell vpower + Cetane booster
Iv been debating a tuning chip, or a remap. Been looking at a revo remap. It's £600 in total but that includes the the switch to turn the map on. Expect to see gains between 20-40HP Just worried about engine wear blowing turbos, clutch ect??

Re: Shell vpower + Cetane booster
As above really if u want power get it remaped. You'd be looking at 205 Bhp. Quite a few 170s on here been mapped by revo and they are more than happy with it. I think you get a warranty with it so if any thing went wrong and Vw warranty didn't cover it then the revo one would I think. Someone mentiond a while back that adding Redex to these modern day engines isn't needed. I personally haven't used any type of performance diesel. Just ran it off normal diesel and it seems fine so I can't really comment on which one out of them two would be better.
Edit.. After just looking on revo quick I don't think that they would replace any parts if they was to fail.

Re: Shell vpower + Cetane booster
Vw blocks are strong and well capable of taking added power, clutch is probably good for 280-300 bhp id uprate it after that to be safe.
Remember engine's are down tuned feom factory for economy.
But just be careful where you get it mapped as there are many laptop cowboys out there doing things on the cheap and they could cause damage.
Try AMD essex expensive but good Bout 400 for a map.
