Hi All

Right this might sound like a stupid question to some but anyway. I am coming 30 unfortunatley, the Scirocco is the first car ive had that I have had any interest and any real money left over to want to modify a car. Basically I would like to over time do a few changes.. thinking well dreaming at the min.

Physically
Lower the car about 35mm-40mm
aftermarket alloys currently thinking 19 TSW Nurburgring

Mechanically
Revo Remap stage 2
Revo Intake
Brembo big brake upgrade

Now recently I was talking about this and I was asked are you not abit old for all that.... not going to lie it annoyed the hell out of me..
Mechanically I dont think so but Physically can you be to old

We have all seen older ladies and gents driving cars that obviously belong to thier sons or daughters you know the ones that look like someone covered them in glue and crashed into halfords.... What age is everyone on here and what all have you done to your car... :)

Thanks

Richard

Depends on the mod. If it will truly make it better and it is done properly, then why put an age cap on. If you're talking "barry boy" style Halfords bodykits attached with woodscrews then I think the age limit is about 19.

I knew a couple who were in their 70s, modded R26R and Stage 2+ Rocco R, and they track them!!

So no IMO!

Simple.

No.

The car is yours, you have earned it, you do what the hell you want to it. It's how you feel about it too, not what others may think.

Hi All

Thanks for the feedback so far and the poll certainly looks very promising, think I am going to stick to mostly OEM have no desire for aftermarket bodykits, but a nice set of light alloys, brake upgrade and some power upgrades will be in the pipeline worst thing about buying nearly new cars is worrying about destroying the warrent.

Out of interest have many had remaps inside the warrenty period any major problems to report dead engines, warrenty work rejections etc etc

Thanks

Never too old. Well into my 60's and still modding when my wife is not looking ;) . No nasty bodybits ever. Tend to look at handling and performance which I do myself. Only use proven manufacturers and quality parts now cause i'm running out of woodscrews and plywood!

Best and possibly cheapest mod I heard of was my brother in the 1970's.

He had an original Mini Cooper S and removed the Cooper badge from the bootlid and replaced it with "Mini 850" (that's 850 cc engine for those under 30). Out-dragging Ford Escort Mexicos and RS2000s was always good for a laugh in that Mini.

blimey at 30 you are still a youngster, my rocco was the first car i modded, learnt a lot and 35 is a far more complete package focused to how i want a car to drive, that said i have a standard daily driver

good choice on the TSW Nurbugrings, have a set on the Golf and look superb on a rocco

I love my Roc as it is. Never been much of a 'go faster stripe' person, although I did modify my first car, a Hillman Imp, by putting a concrete block in the luggage compartment to keep the front wheels on the road. I'm 62.

As for speed and excitment, well you can't beat driving a fire engine flat out. :p

53 here, 'Roc modded with Bluefin and LEDs fitted to the interior, that is it. The remap was applied within the warranty without issues.

If you do get those TSW's. Let me know before you put them on, wouldn't mind taking a look close up! Not sure where you're based, but I'd get there!

Wow, I thought Audi was supposed to be the more grown up brand within VAG. At 36 it seems like I'm one of the youngsters on here. Over on the Audi site I used to visit when I had an A3 I was one of the OAPs!
