Hi, any help or previous experience would be muchly appreciated. Just taken my 09 140 TDI in for its first service in my ownership.

The dealers have found a couple of problems, first major one the 'EGR cooler control flap collapsed', VW can fix this for a mere £785.46 :-0
Looking quickly on ebay i've found a couple of used cooler valves, approx. £60, i'm more than capable to do these sort of jobs myself, and hate paying over the top prices stealers quote. Anyone done one yet? Or had anyone else do one for them and how much did they charge?

Next one, leaking NSR shock, VW price is £234.66, this should be easy enough for myself to sort. Anyone had a leaky shock yet? What are rough prices of the shock with adaptive chassis, eurocarparts seem bit vague on website as I don't think it's showing the correct damper for me.

I'm just taking the dealers word that these problems exsist, I need to inspect the suspension myself because it's only recently been for a MOT and passed with no advisories... Would of thought that would of been mentioned there/failed?

VW weren't too happy that i've fitted 225 section tyres instead of the 235, explaining to the missus that it's dangerous and needs sorting. The tyres are brand new with roughly 500miles on them, wonder if we'd of been naive and changed them we'd of got our 225's back... hmmm

Any help/suggestions will be great, cheers Lloyd.
