Simple question...

Just had its 10k service and the front 2 are bald! The VW garage quoted me £550! I quoted...piss off!

What are the best tires to get for the R and price? (235/35/19)

Hey, I also had the front tyres wear out at only 7000 miles.
The Bridgestone Potenza on picking up the car I can only fault for the wearing out but the handling and grip was amazing.
I was happy to order these again however I needed to change asap and was talked into Hankooks Evos at a terrible company called SeTyres.
They pissed my alignment and failed to fix it twice so I had to have a four wheel laser alignment elsewhere to fix.
The hankooks are ok to be fair but they are not as good as the orginal Bridgestone Potenzas.

When My Rear tyres are done I shall use the Hankooks On the Back and go Back to Top Quality Handling With Bridgestone, They cost nearly £200 a Tyre but The Driving Experience Was excellent. Cons that they didn't last long but I did use them hard.
On my previous Scirocco GT Pirelli Tyres was on and I couldn't fault them although Trading up to the R With Bridgestone Tyres Cornering At speeds that previously seemed dangerous became fun and felt safe. I had never Experienced Grip Like them. There May be better options but I personally look forward to getting those tyres back on the front asap. I have seen good reviews on Pirelli P Zeros also.

Have you tried looking on camskill website. They are usually cheaper than dealers. Thought I'd mention that 1st before cuprabob mentions it ..

Very Happy with my Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrical 2's. £360 a pair fitted.

I put on 4 Continental Sport 3 @ £180 each fitted. Cheaper than Pirelli Zero and Michelin Sport yet do provide all the grip you need to feel safe but last less. I wanted all the grip trading off wear instead of long life. I can not get it to slide powering in corners as the XDS helps it turn even further and gets me around wondering how the hell did that happen and without roll nor slide - i.e. not the sideways fun side to driving but the fun of wonder!

I needed my tyre garage to fit them so thought it out of place to buy my own and then get a charge on top of online prices. They need balancing anyway but you won't need tracking unless you had issues. The camber is set on the Rocco and will wear the inside fronts first so save yourself the extra £25!

They do recommend you change the rear if you change the front as a safety concern. Due to the front inner wearing I'd rule out wheel rotation swaps too.

Might be a bit late now, but for future reference..

I would recommend Vredesteins! about £130 a corner or so.

Rated highly amongst bmw drivers

I would opt for Michelin pilot super sport or P-zero's these are the best 2 you can get.
