Wing Mirror Assembly

After coming slightly too close for comfort with a street lamp my mirror took a little bit of a squeeze. No damage was done other than the clear bit of plastic on the inside of the asembly seems to have popped out and gone more inside the unit, has anyone experienced anything similar or had to dissemble their wing mirror and has instructions? I'm hoping if I take the green plastic off I can push the clear part back into place from the inside, or worse case scenario use a bit super glue...

When I changed the bulbs in my mirror I snapped both of these parts off. They are very fragile and it's likely it has snapped when you hit the lamp post unfortunately mate. To be honest I never even notice it now.

And put a blanket on the ground - read here about someone who did this and the cap slipped out of his grip, hit the floor and smashed!

Thanks for the replies everyone, I chickened out fixing myself after reading threads of those who replaced the bulbs with LED's and ended up smashing the glass, loosing screws and breaking the lenses. When it's in for a service @ VW perhaps I'll ask for a price but it seems it will cost £30 at least for a tiny peice of plastic!! it's still there so hopefully its just out of position, if I replace it, it just might be the most expensive bit of plastic I've bought
