2013 Changes + 177PS TDI engine now available

Well its in the new Sepcification/Price Guide (January 2013), offered alongside the 170. Hardly much point, 4% more power, unless its about to replace the 170?

Brochure overlap for the period of time its covering. 170PS ceases in the model range for factory orders on 27th January 2013 production day end. 177PS starts 28th January production day. Sting is the price isn't fixed yet.

In R-Line spec its £27,480.00 for manual and £28,895.00 for DSG according to the new brochure. So thats £225.00 extra over (for the manual version) for the addition 7PS. Is the engine very different?

So a dsg which is usually £1500 more expensive is actually cheaper... That dosent make sense.

The 177PS engine isn't new. Just a new introduction to the Scirocco. The Passat has it as do some Audi's. So look in the Passat new car infor for details of the engine variant.

Physically what are the differences between the 170 and 177 does anyone know?
Hardly seems worth the change given the small power increase - was there a problem with the 170? I always thought that unit was pretty much bulletproof...

Probably because BMW have a 177PS engine, so it's just marketing really.
I expect that there will be an R diesel model in the next generation with over 200PS, again to compete with BMW.

Along with the new 177bhp model, I've also noticed that the RNS510 now comes with DAB as standard.

In ETKA there is option to have more tinted rear windows to 90%, previous was only 65%. It's from November 2012

Saw these new tints on a mk7 golf in the showroom today. Definitely more "black", in fact as a black car it almost looked like a van!
