Hi All
I know that the PCD will be fine, but Im concerned of the ET on the OEM Helios Rims. Does anyone know if it will fit a Scirocco perfectly?
Pic of the rims below. Theres a bargain avail at GBP800 for the set, so im seriously considering them...

Thanks for the info!
I used that calculator and get a difference of
inner clearance 10mm less
outer position extend an extra 2mm
What exactly does this mean as the pic with them on look good IMO? Bear in mind ive also ordered a set of H&R's to drop it with the DCC intact.

Al I know is weight will lower the performance (the car will be fractionally slower) the turn in will be slightly slower and feeback will be down might even cause some slight understerr issues too!
But if all you want is good looks go for them

Damn, now those are things I dont want

Im gonna have to think about it more - What other OEM VW wheels would be recommended say in 18"?

OK, you guys are gonna kick me..... decided to get a set of BBS CH (replicas.....) and get them looking like the pic below - although Im staying with teh 18 inch, I really dont want to buckle mags and destroy more tyres with 19", maybe later on if a nicer set of 19's comes along. Now the wheels are 8J and ET45, the calculator (thanks for that) says it will retract by 4mm. Thats not gonna make a massive difference? Reason why im concerned is that the OEM wheels look a little retracted in those arches already...

Are they safe? My driving style wont allow it... Ill see what it looks like - or ill just have to write it off to school fees and get a 8.5J set of wheels.

Whats so special about your driving style?
Spacers are absolutely safe.

If done correctly I presume? I attend track days and gymkanas so I dont want the handling affected nor the wheels popping off due to the bolts not seeing enough thread. I guess if all done well it should be fine then.

Of course when done correctly, thats goes withtou saying!
There is no issue with the bolt threads, as long as you've got the right bolts.
If you're really really worried do a stud conversion and run nuts instead of bolts with the spacers.

Thanks man, going today to pick up some H&R 10mm wheel spacers, will let you know what they suggest

Just to ask, will the spacers put added preasure on wheel bearings? Therefore premature failure?

Yes strictly speaking you will be putting a larger moment ont he bearing by adding spacers and will increase the load (its just the same is using a lever)
I run ET0 wheels on my MK2 golf for many years which in effect are 35mm wider than standard offset and i havn't suffered any wheel bearing problems.

I've been running my roc on a 45 offset. The wheels fit fine, no rubbing or anything like that. You dont really notice the wheels sitting further in than standard when its stood next to the other roc which is on interlagos. I do really fancy the H&R 10mm spacers for mine though to give it a more aggressive stance.
