Cold Starts

Hi All,
Firstly apologies for joining the forum and immediately asking a question...
Secondly, just got an 09 scriocco (2.0L tsi) a couple of days ago and love it.

I'm experiencing a problem though.. cold starts.
The car seems to struggle to start in the morning unless I have the accelerator a bit.

It's absolutely fine at all other times of the day.
The battery is new, and i've tested it as well - it isn't that.
My next thought would be spark plugs? It's on a long life service and has had two minor services at 18 and 36k, neither of which includes spark plugs, the car has done 41k now so i'm thinking that might be a factor?

Would really appreciate any advice on this one!
Karl

Sorry do you mean to push the accelerator a bit. If so don't, just turn the key without any throttle at all. I hope this helps

You're missing the point, the car won't start unless I give it a bit of gas on the accelerator when the car is cold
