Hi i have owned my Scricco 2ltr GT 210BHP since new in July 2010. iot has now done pprox 47000 miles, driving back from work on Friday my EMG light cme on, I pulled over and read the manual it it suggested it was linked to the catalitic convertor. I drive slower home without any isues and to be honest there is no loss of power at all. After washing the car today and then nipping to get a paper I noticed the EMG light had gone out, I havnt yet booked it in to be looked at but kust wondered if anyone else has had this issue. This is the first time its happenened to me..... Earlier in the day it came on I did top the oil up as the level was low but apart from that I just can not think why it would have come on.... My heart jumoed out of my mouth to be honest as I thought oh no the crank hasnt gone, but like i say no change in power and theres no unusual noise etc comeing from her, I'll ook it in for inspect as still under warranty but if anyone has any thought id appreciate you sharing them with me. regards Jules

When you checked the oil, was the dipstick fully home in its locator before you checked it. If it was partly raised, it can bring on the dash warning.

Thanks RW1 I'm pretty sure the dipstick was fully inserted as checked the reading twice before topping it up with approx 50ml of synthetic oil however I understand what your saying. Even though the EMG light has now gone out would you still book it in for a check? Thanks, Jules

Book in? Yes, as there should be a fault code indicating why it came on.

I mention the above EMG problem because of it is running normally otherwise. Some 2.0 TSi have a twisted fuel pipe on the top front of the engine which causes the dip stick to be popped out of its holder a little due to pipe positioning.

The writing on the fuel pipe should be horizontal in a line on the pipe otherwise where it passes the dipstick orange pull handle, it can foul and partially lift the dipstick out of its locator/holder.

Hi C. Many thanks for that info.I will check the dip stick first thing in the morning, but like you say must book it in so they can see what the cause was. Once again thanks for your help. Happy Drivin :)
