Hi,

I would like to pick your brains or the re-map of a 2.0 TSI Roc..

I have heard about "revo map" and been on there website and from what I can see you can gain 35-45 bhp through a stage 1 - I think this is just a basic map with no other mods - does anyone know a cost For this?? Or an apron cost for a map at any other place you might have been??

Insurance - dose anyone report to there insurance realistically that they have had a map?

Is it possible to remove and replace map before and after a VW service as not to interrupt with warranty? Also could it be done after a incident (crash) if your insures didn't know? I don't think it likly that they would look but I'm sure it always better to be safe that sorry!

Cheers for reading,

Dicko.

My revo map is declared to my insurers and I wouldn't consider not declaring it. With revo if you have the select+ switch you can turn the map to the revo stock map - it doesn't return the car to the standard map though just the revo version of standard - for when you take the car for servicing, etc.

Hi deacon,

How much did this add to your insurance policy (aprox) if you don't mind me asking?

Also.. How much did your stage 1 cost (aprox)? What BHP you kicking out after map?

Hard to say on the insurance as it wasn't my first mod - roughly £100 I think. Can't remember how much it cost and I got it at a show offer price with the switch thrown in too so probably not reflective of the current pricing anyway. Bhp was about 210 / 220 after map (mines a 1.4 though not a 2.0).

160 to 215! And that's just through a re-map?

As I said hard to say exactly how much was the map. When I had it done it was about £50 extra till renewal time. When renewal came there were other mods as well. I believe vw are a little under generous in reporting it as 160 as stock. Had the car rolling roaded twice while mapped - one gave 210, one 220. It was then rolling roaded again with the itg and that showed around 220/230 bhp.

AMD Essex did my mapping and I have a milltek cat back too. Think it's about £500 now for the map. Rolling roaded at 260bhp and 320 lb ft torque. My insurance went up £30 when insured with one company but now with HIC they didn't charge extra.

By the way I've never told the dealers that it's mapped and they haven't spotted it.
