I bought my car in Dubai at the shk Zayed road agency. You don't have to worry about anything. They were nice and professional. I delt with a salesman called Hani. Very friendly and honest.
Congrats for ur Scirroco. You will love it.
Note: make sure u check if there is an iPod cable inside the arm rest.

Thanks rami. I'm looking forward to receive it. Ill keep that in mind and look for the iPod cable in the armrest. I'm dealing with a guy by the name of Abbas. He sounds geniun. I wanted the 1.4 2013 but it looks like they are not getting them this year or perhaps maybe later on in 2013.

I picked my R up last month, it gets very busy in the dealers when the boat comes in so be patient with them as many people in Dubai don't seem to have any patience or manners!
It's worth paying the extra and getting them to fit the window tints and put the paintwork protection on the car whilst they are doing the acceptance checks, the car really suits the tints and the protection is great, just a quick jet wash once a week- its so simple!
It's good service from VW, just don't expect things to happen quickly, my delivery date was originally 1st July, I finally received the car on 22nd August!

Hi James,
thank you for the pointers below. My car arrived on the 1st and was told I'll be able to collect it on the 15th. I hope this happen as I am very excited.
I have been giving the paint protection and the tints some thought.
How much was it for the tints and how dark did you go?
How much for the paint protection?
Cheers,
Joe

The tints are 35% which is the legal maximum for expats. I can't remember the exact quote for having both done but I think it was in the reagion of 3000AED ?
Those timings sound about right but if you want the tints and paint protection I ask them now and get it done whilst its still in the workshop otherwise it will have to go back in for a few days.

The tint itself is for 1500 dirhams. I went for it and it's worth it. Had the car for a year and not a single scratch of peeling. Did not go for the paint protection so I can't comment on that.

I think the paint protect is worth it. Next time you're in the VW showroom, feel the paintwork on all the pre-owned cars, they treat all those with the ProTech package, compare how that feels to any of the brand new cars in the showroom, it gives the paintwork a hard very smooth glass like finish.
Cleaning is simply just a jet wash and that's all!
The guys at the Enoc garage on SZR will jet wash it then blow it over with an air hose to dry it, they know not to wipe it with anything, I guess they can tell by the way the water beads and runs off the paint?
Well worth doing in my opinion.

I am getting my car tinted at SACA CAR GROUP in Dubai. My friend owns it so he is hooking me up with free 35% tints.
About the Protech paint protection it is AED 2100. Honestly, with this money I would rather buy the products and do it myself (clay, wax, polish, gloss, etc) as I enjoy working on my car. (I'll still think about it though) How long is this paint protection is supposed to last anyways?
James which ENOC are you exactly talking about? what's next to it?
Cheers

I gave in and decided to do the paint protection (protech)... I really hope it's worth it.
At least I don't have to worry about waxing it a lot i guess...

So I am fuming right now when I had called to see if I can pick up my car (tomorrow morning) as promised. They have not even registered the car or processed the insurance for me. So tomorrow is a waste of a day as Friday everything is closed in Dubai.
I just don't understand how a car that was delivered 10 days ago to the dealership is not ready yet?! When they wanted me to pay the 20% down deposit I got harassed to come in and pay it or they will give the car to someone else who is waiting for one. Now that they need to give the goods they toy around with me. Since all is open on Saturday morning, by noon if I do not get the car I am making a scene at the VW on SZR. I am not buying a bloody Kia or Hyundai I paid a $hit load of money for this toy and expect great service from VW.
Enough is enough with their waiting game.

As I said earlier in this thread
May I ask what nationality you are?
