Options & opinions

Hello All I would appreciate any help/comments with the following, I am looking at getting company car - a new Scirroco GT Blue Efficiency model 140bhp, C02 is 118 so it makes sense from a monthly cost perspective. Does the panoramic sunroof option come with a underside sliding sunroof cover or not? I know the sunroof only opens a couple of inches max, just trying to decide if its worth paying for it as an additional option. Anyone got any views on possible road noise issues with the sunroof or with the additional light it creates? is it worth the money? The car comes with standard 18" Interlagos alloys, however the optional Lugano 19" alloys look the biz, but how do they affect handling or mpg much? is the ride not as smooth as with the standard 18" alloys? presume the ACC would help with this anyway? again, the 19" alloys are an option, are they worth the extra money? I love the Rising blue colour, & I think it would look great with Vienna leather in Truffle, however I know the VW website car configurator wont allow you to select this conbination, but can you order it specially if you paid extra for it? Last question, the Bi-Xenon headlights are an expensive option, are they so much better than the standard headlights? are they worth the extra money? thanks all Saxman

Panoramic roof does come with sliding blind. No issues with noise and is a good option as it lets the light in the cabin.

I've got 19" Luganos and the ride is fine. Can't comment on 18" wheels but can't see how they would affect handling / mpg so that you would notice.

Can't comment on Truffle leather as I dislike it greatly :-)

Xenons are the first thing I spec. as they are so much better.

Whether all of these options are worth the money, is a personal one but I would say yes.

Another    for the xenons.

Rear parking sensors come in very useful as well.

I would doubt that you could have the leather option if it cant be configured on the website. It is odd that your cant, but that is the way it is.

Wheels - a personal choice. For me, you only ever see them when your car is parked up so I dont see the point (appreciate that handling may be different etc) , so I would spend money on something you are going to get the benefit of every day, such as the panoramic roof, Sat Nav, cruise control, blah, blah blah.

Xenons - I dont have them, so dont mss them. They arent cheap, but are apparently very good.

Folding mirrors are a must for me and think they only cost about £150 extra. Gives you the facility for the mirror to tilt down when reversing too.

Not sure if DAB is standard now or not, if not that's an option I would definitely recommend along with Dynaudio. I ended up just ticking every box :-)

I ticked every box when ordering mine, with me it was more about me wanting than needing regardless of price i like my cars fully spec'd.

Every option is worth it if you think your going to make use of them, Sat nav and Xenons lights i would say it is worth paying for and also folding mirrors as its only £140 which includes passenger side kurbview tilt and puddle lights.

Panoramic roof nice to have but not worth paying for, if you've not had one before you wont miss it
19's are worth it for looks wise, there is not much difference in handling and comfort with 18's and 19s

Regarding truffle leather in rising blue, if the combo is not available you can request it from factory, although you may have to push the salesman to look into for you as they do tend to be lazy for special requests....personally i wouldnt see a problem for vw to put them seats in your car aslong as they have them and door cards in stock it's just the same as putting black leather seats in.....worth a try

+1 for the folding mirrors. I didn’t realise mirrors that don't fold don’t do the tilt-down when reversing thing. In my opinion this is the key to keeping your alloys in good condition by not kerbing them when parking. I find it slightly annoying that they won't fold after you have removed the key though, I often forget and have to put the key in again.

They should do - provided you've not opened the door before you turn the knob.

I just checked. They do, as long as I remember before opening the door. Thanks
