Please help :( I think my dealer didn't lift my car properly

Post by rhcp128 »

Hey everybody! Today I washed my car and I discovered 4 symmetrical dents on the metal part under door. There is one close to each tyre and it looks like my dealer didn't position the car properly when he lifted it and these four dents were made. I went back and he told me that the scirocco had these four special dents which were meant to be used when the car is lifted. It seems really stupid to me that the car should be supported by metal parts which are painted and part of the body. Is it really meant to be like that is the guy trying to escape responsibility???

I'll try to post some pictures later so you can see what I mean. Really appreciate your help

Are these not to point out where the jacking points are? Usually behind the sill?

This is what a Scirocco looks like when the dealers don't jack it correctly:

Luckly they admited it straight away and coughed up for it to be fixed

Ok :) I think I over reacted, they certainly don't look like that.. They look like recessed spots almost triangular... Thing is I never noticed them before and my dealer had changed put on my summer rims a few days ago and I though he messed it up...

Thanks a lot for the quick responses :)

Triangular indentations are DEFINITELY markers for where to use a scissor jack
