Had my 122 for 8 months now and as much as I love it to pieces, I just wished I got DSG and GT spec. So after enquiring about trading it in, I found out the car hadn't lost any value so I was allowed to swap it over :D

I was going to get a 2.0TSi but after thinking about it, I thought I'd be better just going for a Diesel since I do about 600 miles a week lol.

So I'm parting with my wee 2010 1.4T Candy Monster now that it's got 22k miles on it and getting an Indium Grey, 2011 GT TDi 140 with 10k on it and the pleasurable DSG :)
Should get it in about a week or so once it gets delivered to the dealer.


Anyone got any Info about the 140 or DSG that they want to comment on ? I'll get it remapped once I get bored of the power lol. Just gonna enjoy having amazing mpg and a lazy persons gearbox :P haha. Oh and dual zone climate too... Sweeeeet !

Speaking as a 170 DSG owner I'm sure you'll love it. I dropped the Mrs off at 12.30 am this morning after a weekend away. On the way to hers we didn't come across another car. Let's just say the 25 mile drive home on my own was most enjoyable. Twisty county roads, gearbox in sport, suspension in sport - I've never got home so quick. Every now and again it's nice to stretch its legs.

Around town it'll pootle round in full auto saving you all the messing with the clutch. I'm sure Revo can liven it up a little as well should you feel the need. Then at the ed of the day you'll have the MPG and cheap road tax to Sep your wallet happy.

Thanks for such a detailed answer :)
I've driven my mates van with DSG lol, and it's a joy to drive instead of the manual box... Always going between first, second, back to first when sitting in traffic. I won't need to bother anymore, I can relax and just cruise through haha.

Not been on here for a while and just read this post first...

I have the GT Tdi 140 DSG - Had this for 12 months at end of the month. I do a varied drives, my daily commute is a lot of stop start rush hour traffic and a stretch on the motorway which is an hour each way. The power is there when needed and can honestly say I have never got bored using the DSG to just drop up and down at will with no need to kick down is brilliant, the response is superb, and it's a joy to use. Can honestly say that DSG is a must now for all future car purchases ( until they invent something new ).

In short :- in traffic great, sport mode a buzz - nice and nippy even for a 140, great cruising on motorway and kicks when it needs to. Country Lanes - Wooooop gimme more !

Daily MPG on my commute is 58mpg on average.
